According to legend, Delhi was known as Indraprastha. In the 12th century, Delhi became the capital of Muslim rulers. In 1526, Babur founded the Mughal Empire, which made Delhi a magnificent capital. In 1947, India gained independence, and Delhi became the capital of the Republic of India. |
