Historical Description

Tatra-Lomnitz was established at the end of the 19th century as a spa and recreational resort during the time of Austria-Hungary. With the construction of hotels and the railway, it quickly developed into a popular destination for wealthy visitors. In the 20th century, Tatra-Lomnitz was expanded into an important winter sports center. Particularly significant was the construction of the cable car to Lomnický štít, one of the highest peaks in the Tatra Mountains. Today, the town is a well-known tourist destination for skiing and mountain holidays.
