View overlooking the Endeavour River on the coast of Queensland, Australia. James Cook laid the Endeavour on its shallow keel on the beach in the winter of 1770 to repair it, as the ship had run onto Endeavour Reef (a coral reef in the Great Barrier Reef) at Cape Tribulation the night before, causing significant damage.
