Part of a large rare map consisting of 6 plates showing the southern tip of the Dead Sea with Israel and Jordan. On a partial map Egypt and the Sinai Peninsula with Israel and partly Jordan. This map shows the tribes of Simeon, Dan and Judah, located south-west of the Dead Sea, was published by Jan Jansson and Georguis Hornius (1620-1670) in the French edition of the Atlas Major of 1662 and is based on the map by Christian van Adricham, Situs Terrae Promissionis of 1590.
