Sebastian Henricpetri (also Sebastian Petri (1546 in Basel- 1627) was a printer and publisher from the Basel family of Petri, who were related to Johannes Petreius from Nuremberg. The widow of the book printer Adam Petri Anna Selber married the cosmographer and humanist Sebastian Münster in 1530 Anna's son Heinrich Petri printed his stepfather's main work, Cosmographia, in 1544. Heinrich Petri's sons were Sebastian Henricpetri, Adam Henricpetri and Sixtus Henricpetri he published around 300 Latin and German works, including many history books.In 1566 he printed the second edition of De revolutionibus orbium coelestium by Nicolaus Copernicus, a book that appeared in Nuremberg in 1543 in only a small edition (around 500) Collaborator was the proofreader, author and editor Nicolaus Höniger. Henricpetri employed important Ill ustrators like Tobias Stimmer and Gregor Sickinger. For Martin Crusius he printed and published his Germano-Graecia and Turco-Graecia in 1584. The Cosmographia by Sebastian Münster was also published by Henricpetri. From 1591 he also produced the school books and other printed matter for the Basel grammar school. In addition, "a number of anonymous smaller theological daily disputes around the turn of the century" were most likely printed by him. On March 24, 1626, shortly before his death, he had to file for bankruptcy of his printing company.
