Historical Description | Founded by the Bohemian King Ottokar II Přemysl, the town was first mentioned in 1261. Under Kings Charles IV and Wenceslas IV, the town was granted numerous privileges and prospered considerably. It was one of the most important royal cities in Bohemia. |
