Plate 45 shows three splendid representations of hyacinths. I and II Muscari moschatum (lat. Muscari moschatum WILD), III Constantinopolitan hyacinth (lat. Hyacinthus spec.). Hyacinths (Hyacinthus) are a genus of plants in the asparagus family (Asparagaceae). The genus consists of three species of bulbous plants that flower in spring. In 1613, the first edition of the magnificent work Hortus Eystettensis was published, produced by the pharmacist, botanist, collector, engraver and publisher Basilius Besler from Nuremberg-2013 was the 400th anniversary of the first edition!
