Carl Friedrich Dörr (1777 -1842 ) war a german painter, printer and a romance musician. He was born in 1777 in Tuebingen and learned paintin at the age of 14. Since 1796 he worked in the "Schwäbischen Industrie-Comptoir and art publishing house of Friedrich Carl Lang". After 1798 he wnt to Swizerland for landscape paining and returned to Heilbronn in 1814.

Historical Description

In 1789, parts of the old town burned down, but were later rebuilt in the original style. In 1798 the Allgemeine Zeitung, a leading newspaper in early 19th-century Germany, was founded in Tübingen by Johann Friedrich Cotta. From 1807 until 1843, the poet Friedrich Hölderlin lived in Tübingen in a tower overlooking the Neckar.
