Description | Document to the honor the monument of Ulrich von Hutten and Franz von Sickingen. Ulrich von Hutten (1488 – 1523) was a German scholar, poet, satirist and reformer. He was an outspoken critic of the Roman Catholic Church and a bridge between the Renaissance humanists and the Lutheran Reformation. He was a leader of the Imperial Knights of the Holy Roman Empire. Franz von Sickingen or Francis of Sickingen (1481- 1523) was a German knight, one of the most notable figures of the first period of the Reformation. |
