Antonio Zatta (1757 – 1797) was an Italian cartographer who was based in Venice. One of his major contributions include the Atlante Novissimo, a four volume atlas of the world in very high scientific quality.

Eggert Olafsen (1726 - 1768), was member of the Danish Academy of Sciences. In 1752, went on a mission to Iceland in order to gather information on the scientific, economic and political nature of the island. "Atlas du Voyage en Islande, fair par ordre de S.M. Danoise" was a later French edition of this voyage and consists of many fine engravings depicting Iceland's distinctive landscape, people, geology, birdlife and fish and this large scale map. Erichsen and Schoemming's map shows district divisions and includes glaciers, topography, towns, lakes.
